Defending The Suspected JE Sex Predator On Deddy Corbuzier Podcast, Hotma Sitompul Makes Warganet Sad

JAKARTA - Deddy Corbuzier gave the right to answer for the alleged sexual harassment suspect, JE, represented by Lawyer Hotma Sitompul. Previously, Deddy gave space to the Chairman of the National Commission for Child Protection, Arist Merdeka Sirait to explain the case from the victim's perspective.

Hotma Sitompul gave a warning to Deddy Corbuzier after raising the case of alleged harassment by motivator Julianto Eka. "Be careful, Ded, you are God's representative, you have millions of followers. Your podcast can form opinions," said Hotma as quoted from Youtube Deddy Corbuzier which was uploaded on Monday, July 25.

Hotma emphasized that the victim could not show sexual harassment. "You slander if you say 'you kissed me' but there is no evidence," said Hotma Sitompul.

Hotma challenged Deddy Corbuzier to play a video to prove if there was a mastermind who made a sexual harassment scenario.

"Now Deddy asks, we will tell you who did the engineering, what is behind this, how did this happen, there is evidence, there is a video, there is a confession," said Hotma Sitompul.

But Deddy did not dare to take the opportunity. "I'm just the media, I'm in the middle. I show it to be transparent to the public," he said.

According to Hotma Sitompul, Deddy Corbuzier's podcast which is watched by millions of people every day has a strong influence in shaping public opinion.

"That's why I always say, be careful. You are the bearer of God's voice. You go up to the mountain, people go up, you plunge into the abyss, people jump. I am serious. That's a fact," he said, as quoted by Solopos.com, Monday night.

"I'm just the media, I'm in the middle. I show it to be transparent to the public," he said.

Hotma Sitompul as Julianto's legal team said the case that was ensnaring his client was a fabrication.

Deddy Corbuzier questioned the news that the judge rejected the victim's evidence, Julianto's lawyer denied it.

"The panel of judges said that it has been attached, we will consider it later, so it is not unacceptable, if there are photos or videos, please," said lawyer Julianto.

"I have proof. Their engineering, they were in Bali, paid for at the hotel, stayed there. So they planned this from one year ago, make this they engineered Eko Julianto and his SPI to be destroyed," said Hotma Sitompul.

Hotma even emphasized that Deddy Corbuzier should be careful not to lead public opinion. He believes this issue is only business competition, not sexual harassment.

“Initially I did not interfere, let the children (lawyers) take care of it. But after this case went viral I thought 'wow I have to go down'. And in this case the motive is business competition. This is a struggle (business), in the end, it's rice too," said Hotma.
