39-year-old Woman Dies After Jumping From Gajah Mada Plaza Building, Family Calls Depression Because Illness Doesn't Heal

JAKARTA - A woman with the initials NA (39) was found dead after falling from the 6th floor of Gajah Mada Plaza, Gambir District, Central Jakarta, Monday, July 25, evening.
According to provisional estimates, the Central Jakarta Metro Police said the victim committed suicide by jumping from the 6th floor. The victim was suspected of being depressed because the illness did not go away.
"From the testimony of the witness there, NA jumped from the 6th floor. The victim's belongings that we have secured are only his ID card," Gambir Police Head of Criminal Investigation Unit, Kompol Andika Prasetia, told reporters on Tuesday, July 25.
Andika said the victim's body was immediately taken to the Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM) Jakarta.
"The body is already at the RSCM. We are also studying CCTV regarding the situation before the victim jumped from the 6th floor," he said.
Currently, the Gambir Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit has received information from the victim's family. It was stated that the victim was suspected of having depression because the illness did not heal so he was depressed.
"The victim has a child and has a husband. But the family said that the victim never had a fight and there were only certain illnesses that had not healed until now," he said.
