Police Ensure That Rizieq Shihab's Case At Polda West Java Is Stopped
JAKARTA - The National Police has ensured that the handling of a number of cases that ensnared Rizieq Shihab as a reported case was stopped by the investigation and investigation process, one of which was handled by the West Java Regional Police.
"The information we get is (case termination)," said Karo Penmas, Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Awi Setiyono, to reporters, Tuesday, November 10.
Originally, Rizieq Shihab was reported to the Regional Police of West Java on suspicion of insulting Sundanese culture on November 24, 2015. He cut the Sundanese greeting 'Sampurasun' as 'Mixing Poison'.
Then another case, namely, alleged insult to Pancasila. Rizieq was reported by Sukmawati Soekarnoputri in October 2016 and was discontinued in May 2018.
But Awi did not explain clearly the cases that were terminated from the two cases. He only said hello if the case was terminated because no new evidence was found.
"That is what happens there. Because there the info is like that," he said.
Meanwhile, for the Rizieq case which was handled by Polda Metro Jaya, Awi did not explain clearly.
"So as yesterday we conveyed confirmation to Polda Metro Jaya," he said.
Rizieq Shihab was caught in several cases at Polda Metro Jaya. Some of them were about insulting Christianity in a lecture in East Jakarta. The report was recorded at Polda Metro Jaya on December 27, 2016.
Rizieq Shihab was also reported in a case of religious insult. He was reported by the Interfaith Youth Student Forum to Polda Metro Jaya on December 30, 2016.
