President Jokowi Arrives In Beijing China, Will Meet Xi Jinping

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo and First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo and their delegation arrived at Beijing Capital International Airport, Beijing, China and are scheduled to meet President Xi Jinping on Tuesday (26/7).

Based on an official statement reported by ANTARA, Monday, July 25, President Jokowi arrived in Beijing on Monday at 21:37 local time after taking a flight of about 6 hours 40 minutes using the Garuda Indonesia GIA-1 aircraft.

President Jokowi and Mrs. Iriana were welcomed by Chinese Foreign Minister Wu Jiang Hao, Ambassador of the LBBP RI in Beijing Djauhari Oratmangun and his wife, and Defense Attache of the Republic of Indonesia in Beijing Marsma Bayu Hendra Permana and his wife.

Next, the President and Mrs. Iriana Joko Widodo headed to Diaoyutai State Guesthouse for the night.

When they arrived at Diaoyutai State Guesthouse, they seemed to welcome the President and Mrs. Iriana, namely Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan and Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi.

President Jokowi is scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting with Chinese Prime Minister and President Xi Jinping the next day.

Also accompanying President Jokowi and Mrs. Iriana on the flight to Beijing were Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir and Minister of Investment/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Bahlil Lahadalia.

The President's visit to Beijing, China, started a series of visits to three East Asian countries. After China, the President and the delegation will go to Japan and South Korea.

President Jokowi will meet with leaders from the three countries to discuss a number of issues ranging from global issues to cooperation in various aspects, such as trade to infrastructure.
