Apple Brains New MacBook Air And MacBook Pro 13 Inches

JAKARTA - Apple has officially introduced the M1 chipset, which will be the technology base for Mac devices. Where Apple launched the Mac Mini, MacBook Air and MacBook Pro variants powered by the M1 Chipset.

"This is a 5nm processor, like the A14 Bionic which runs the latest iPhone, but this is the first Apple designed specifically for Mac," said SVP Hardware Technologies, Johny Srouji, Wednesday morning, November 11.

The launch of the new line of Macs was held at Apple's "One More Thing" event, to introduce the M1 as the new brain for the giant Cupertino gadget. Thus, Apple can now stand on its own feet after nearly 15 years of depending on Intel.

At the same time, Apple also introduced the latest line of MacBook Air, MacBook Pro and Mac Mini devices which are now powered by the new ARM-based M1 chipset.

Armed with the Apple M1 chipset in the latest generation MacBook Air, Apple promises three times faster computing performance than the previous generation. Not only that, the graphics performance is said to be 5x faster.

"With the M1 allows the MacBook Air to do things that previously could not be done on a thin and light device," said Mac Product Line Manager, Laura Metz, as quoted by The Verge.

Apple also complements the MacBook Air with a fingerprint scanner sensor or TouchID. Apple sells the MacBook Air for US $ 999, or around Rp.14.1 million. Especially for students, this gadget will cost 899 US dollars or around Rp. 12 million.

13-inch MacBook Pro

Switching to the 13-inch MacBook Pro, with the M1 chipset the performance promised to be 8 times faster than its predecessor. While the graphics are 5 times faster than the previous generation.

"Up to 3 times faster than the best-selling Windows laptop in its class. It can play 8K ProRes video in Resolve without losing a single frame," said MacBook Pro Product Manager, Shruti Haldea.

The MacBook Pro comes in a 13.3-inch Retina Display screen with a resolution of 2,560 x 1,600 pixels. Apple also provided it with a brightness level of 500 nits, wide color (P3) and True Tone Technology.

Apple has also installed a 58.2 watt-hour lithium-polymer battery which is claimed to last 17 hours of WiFi surfing and 20 hours of serial viewing. In order for the battery to charge quickly, Apple provides a 61W USB type C adapter.

With various performance improvements, Apple will sell the MacBook Pro for US $ 1,299 or around Rp.18.3 million. Orders for this device can be made at the Apple Store on Wednesday next week.
