The Minister Of Home Affairs Reminds The Public To Vote In The Pilkada, Don't Make The Wrong Choice And Regret
JAKARTA - The Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Tito Karnavian invites the public to exercise their right to vote in the 2020 simultaneous regional elections on 9 December.
"I ask that the remaining 25 days of this campaign are adjusted to health protocols, use the right to vote and do not make the wrong choice because they regret it could be four or five years," said the Minister of Home Affairs quoted by Antara, Tuesday, November 10.
Home Affairs Minister Tito also appealed to regional head candidates to participate in campaigning for an invitation to vote for the 2020 simultaneous regional elections.
In addition to utilizing the remaining time by continuing to campaign according to health protocols, candidates according to Tito need to optimize their invitation so that the public will come to the polling stations (TPS) in order to increase voter participation.
Tito also reminded the regional head candidates about the importance of integrity and commitment to serve the community.
"If I suggest returning to my commitment when I became regional head, if we think about looking for wealth or praise, I think forget it, because it will be problematic. Be a regional leader who serves and benefits many people, "said the Minister of Home Affairs.
The Minister of Home Affairs also asked the regional head candidates to take advantage of the momentum of this regional election by choosing a debate theme about handling COVID-19 and its socio-economic impact.
"Some of your tenure in office are dealing with the pandemic problem, how to deal with the stagnant economy in their respective regions because of restrictions," said Tito.
For him, without controlling COVID-19, all economic, social, political and other programs will not work. Not only that, the Minister of Home Affairs again reminded candidates for regional heads to campaign using smart methods.
For example, the distribution of masks with pictures of pairs of candidates, handsanitizers by placing stickers or numbers of candidate pairs, so that the electability of the candidates for regional head can increase without violating.
"And it is hoped that there will be a reduction in the spread of COVID-19 in the area," he said.
