Tribune Barrier Collapses, PDIP Asks Anies Not To Boast That JIS Is A Masterpiece

JAKARTA - Member of the PDIP faction of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Gilbert Simanjuntak, asked DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswdan not to brag about calling the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) a masterpiece.

Because yesterday the fence between the stands and the JIS field collapsed. In fact, at that time the international-class stadium was just inaugurated.

"It's best not to brag too much about saying masterpieces, because the fence just fell with a little disturbance," Gilbert told reporters on Monday, July 25.

Gilbert also doubted the quality of JIS construction. He suspected that the construction of the stadium with a budget of around Rp. 4 trillion was not carried out optimally.

This member of Commission B of the DKI DPRD, Ilbert asked Anies to re-examine the work of the JIS which had just been inaugurated. This is necessary so that similar incidents do not happen again.

"Of course, no one wants the quality of JIS to be fake, only a few disturbances have been damaged. A thorough audit or inspection is needed before handing over from the project contractor. It is better to check the total quality of the stadium work," he explained.

In the Grand Launching of JIS yesterday, DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan said the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) is a masterpiece for Persija supporters or commonly called The Jakmania, residents of DKI Jakarta, and Indonesia. This building is 100 percent made by the nation's children.

"Today, this masterpiece standing in Jakarta is dedicated to Jakmania, for the citizens of Jakarta and for Indonesia," said Anies in his remarks which was greeted by enthusiastic Persija supporters who were present at JIS, North Jakarta on Sunday, July 24.

"This masterpiece is 100 percent built by the nation's children. It was built from the sweat of Indonesians who were born from the wombs of Indonesian mothers," continued Anies.
