IKN Nusantara Development Starts Stretching, Menparekraf Sandiaga Asks Balikpapan Tourism And Creative Economy Players To Increase Product Innovation And Promotion

JAKARTA - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy/Head of the Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Menparekraf/Kabaparekraf) Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno asked tourism and creative economy (parekraf) actors in the city of Balikpapan, East Kalimantan, to maximize opportunities from the development of the National Capital (IKN) of the Archipelago .

Sandiaga said, the stretching of the IKN development in Penajam Paser Utara, East Kalimantan, had a broad impact on the creation of business opportunities and employment opportunities, including in Balikpapan City.

"We can see the impact of IKN development starting to stretch, there is an increase in the economy because there are many visits from IKN preparation. This is the fruit of President Jokowi's hard work for the last 8 years, including in Balikpapan," he said in an official statement, quoted Monday, July 25.

For this reason, Sandiaga encourages tourism and creative economy actors, especially SMEs to maximize and capture these opportunities by increasing product innovation and promotion.

This is also the background for the presentation of the "Workshop for Increasing Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Balikpapan City" to increase innovation and entrepreneurship for creative and creative actors. So that later it is expected to trigger an economic revival and the creation of the widest possible employment opportunities.

Moreover, said Sandiaga, a sampling test had previously been carried out to determine the leading creative economy sub-sector in Balikpapan so that it could be developed more optimally. The applications and games sub-sector has been selected as the leading sub-sector.

"But there is still a lot of homework (homework), we heard directly from creative economy actors, they want to be given assistance because now prices are rising, the cost of living is also rising, and jobs are still hard to come by," he said.

"This is a PR for us, I am committed to the direction of Commission X DPR RI that the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy must be present in the community with activities that are right on target, right on benefit, and on time," he continued.

The former Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta said that his party encouraged the development of a creative economy ecosystem so that actors could increase their business. This is proven, according to Sandiaga, business actors who are touched by government policies can increase their business opportunities well.

"Not only for the games sub-sector, but also for other sub-sectors such as culinary, fashion, and crafts. We hope that the creative economy can become the locomotive of economic growth in Balikpapan," said Sandiaga.
