Get Toto Tewel, I'm Garuda From DJ Stroo And Roy Jeconiah Now More Energetic
JAKARTA - DJ Stroo and Roy Jeconiah re-released the song Aku Garuda in their latest mix. This time, they involved veteran rock guitarist Toto Tewel.
The presence of this Elpamas guitarist made Aku Garuda fresher than the first version. Moreover, this song also underwent a remastering process with a level that was made higher and wider through the touch of Bayu Randu's hand from MusicBlast as the distributor.
Not only that, Bayu Randu - Funky Kopral's additional guitarist - also filled the guitar line in this song.
"DJ Stroo wants to touch the guitar again on the back (part). And it is impossible to (ask) Mas Toto (Tewel) because the time is short," said Bayu Randu in a virtual press conference attended by VOI, Tuesday, November 10.
Although in terms of filling the guitar there is no significant difficulty, Bayu Randu admits that there are some obstacles from the production side.
"The data I received is in the form of WAV stereo. The master data is not there," said Bayu Randu. But in the end everything was resolved.
The first version of Aku Garuda was released three years ago. For this new version, DJ Stroo was originally going to release it on August 17 yesterday. However, for one reason or another, the release has been delayed.
“This song is still going strong, and we still have a chance to be re-released. Moreover, until now there are still many who like it, ”said former Boomerang vocalist Roy Jeconiah.
Meanwhile, Toto Tewel half jokingly admitted that he wondered why DJ Stroo chose him as a collaborator. However, for Toto, this is not the first time for him to work with a DJ.
"Previously, I collaborated with a DJ on his album Filastine. And the last gig was in Bali, then in the Netherlands and Belgium also a collaboration with DJ," explained Toto.
Meanwhile, DJ Stroo emphasized that initially he thought of hooking up a metal guitarist to make Aku Garuda more energetic and striking. However, after hearing Toto's guitar filling, the DJ, who is also a music journalist, admitted that he was satisfied.
"Toto Tewel gives a more 'get' guitar feel. The leads are complicated and more energetic. The energy of this song is different. It used to be more dancing, now it's more headbanging," said DJ Stroo.
