Rizieq Shihab Et Al Will Hold 212 Reunion, Have Sent Permit To DKI Pemprov

JAKARTA - After returning to Indonesia, the leader of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) Muhammad Rizieq Shihab plans to commemorate the 212 Reunion action on December 2.

Chairman of the 212 Alumni Brotherhood (PA), Slamet Maarif, said that his party had sent a letter requesting permission to use the National Monument as a location for the action to the DKI Provincial Government.

"We delivered a letter to the DKI Regional Government 3 months ago for the 212 Reunion application. Monas is (managed) by the DKI Regional Government," said Slamet when met in Petamburan, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, November 10.

After DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan issued a permit for the use of the Monas area for the 212 Reunion, Slamet will forward a notification letter to Polda Metro Jaya.

Slamet admitted that his party was still preparing the technical implementation of the reunion event. Because, currently Indonesia is still being hit by the COVID-19 pandemic.

"We are reviewing the format. Hopefully within a day or two there will be a decision. Because we are also coordinating with the DKI Regional Government regarding the development of COVID-19," said Slamet.

In addition, the crowd welcoming Rizieq Shihab's arrival at Soekarno Hatta Airport and at his residence, Petamburan, was also a consideration for the technical arrangement of the event.

This is because Slamet admitted that a dense mass spill in one location posed a risk of transmission of the corona virus.

"Regarding the crowd, we will discuss it. Including today's activities, we will evaluate it together for 212. Because, it is indeed extraordinary the welcome of the people who came to welcome our high priest," he said.
