Oration In Action Rejects Work Creation Law, YLBHI Head Asfinawati: Friends Are Heroes

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Indonesian Legal Aid Foundation (YLBHI) Asfinawati returned to speech during a demonstration against Law Number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation. Asfinawati said that those who dared to speak out against this law were heroes.

"For me, comrades are real heroes," said Asfinawati from the top of the command car at the Arjuna Wiwaha Horse Statue Area, Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, November 10.

Not without reason he said that. According to Asfinawati, heroes are those who dare to move and speak out despite the opposition from many parties.

"A hero is a person who is brave, not only daring to move but daring to fight narrative, a narrative that tells us that we are strange, a narrative that says it is impossible to do something," he said.

Asfinawati said the Job Creation Law was a small form of the evil efforts of the oligarchs who were currently in power. So, by uniting against the law, it is hoped that the government can listen to the demands of the community demanding that the Job Creation Law be repealed.

"History records that nothing is impossible. Everything that is impossible will become possible if we make a movement," he said.

Currently, the protesters are reading poetry from the command car. The plan is that Gebrak will take action until 20.00 WIB.

While on the side of the road from Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat to Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan, the mass of workers and students who did not join Gebrak had dispersed.
