COVID-19 Cases In Indonesia Continue To Increase, Southeast Minahasa Police Again Intensify Vaccinations

MINAHASA TENGGARA - COVID-19 cases in Indonesia are experiencing an upward trend. Based on the Ministry of Health's update, the positive cases of COVID-19 today, Sunday, July 24, increased by 4,071 cases.

In total, active cases rose to 40,452 cases. Vaccination is considered to be an effective way to prevent massive transmission.

Southeast Minahasa Police, North Sulawesi, including those who are increasingly aggressively vaccinating against COVID-19. Currently, they are targeting 300 local residents who are vaccinated with boosters per day.

"We are targeting a minimum of 300 residents of the Southeast Minahasa community to be vaccinated with the booster every day," said Southeast Minahasa Police Chief AKBP Feri Sitorus, as reported by Antara, Sunday, July 24.

According to him, booster vaccinations in all jurisdictions of the Southeast Minahasa Police will be implemented immediately. "This week we are again carrying out COVID-19 vaccinations for the public specifically for boosters," he continued.

He revealed, the implementation of this vaccination is to increase the number of people who have not received the booster vaccine. The police chief also hopes for support from technical agencies, namely the Health Office, as well as the ranks of sub-districts, villages and sub-districts.

"Support from the ranks of the Southeast Minahasa Regency Government will be very important to participate in the success of this vaccination," he said.

The public is also asked to immediately vaccinate to prevent the spread of COVID-19. "Vaccination is very important to avoid risks that we don't want because at this time there is still a COVID-19 pandemic," he said.
