"Citayam Fashion Week" Becomes Polemic, Founders Of Roughneck 1991: Make Us Heroes

JAKARTA - The "Citayam Fashion Week" event held by SCBD teenagers (Sudirman, Citayam, Bojong Gede and Depok) received a lot of criticism from several parties. Their presence is considered to have disturbed public order.

However, not a few also provide support. There are those who positively welcome the use of public space to demonstrate the creativity of the community.

Now the event is also enlivened by celebrities, state officials and even local brands. One of them is Roughneck 1991. In fact, they are willing to style the teenagers in the Sudirman area for free.

The founder of Roughneck 1991, Rusli Ikhwan said that his party saw SCBD children as heroes who helped local brands survive during the pandemic.

"I think it's natural, just imagine two years of lockdown due to the pandemic, but they still shop online. When it's not lockdown, it's only natural that they want to show off the things they buy. For us they are heroes, those who help us during the pandemic," he said.

Previously, it was reported that this CFW event will be relocated from Dukuh Atas to several alternative locations. The discourse emerged after there were complaints from the public who were disturbed by these activities.

Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta, Ahmad Riza Patria, said that apart from Monas, the alternative locations were Sarinah and Senayan.

"For this week's fashion activities in the future, let's find a better place. Don't be in the middle of the road, it will disturb public order," said Riza.
