Borobudur Temple Land Area Of 7 Hectares Confirmed Central Java Prosecutor's Office Has Been Certified
SEMARANG - Head of the Central Java High Court Andi Herman said the land certification process for Borobudur Temple in Magelang Regency, Central Java, had been completed.
"The 7-hectare Borobudur land has been certified," said Andi Herman in Semarang as reported by ANTARA, Friday, July 22.
According to him, land certification for cultural heritage objects went through a long process before being handled by the prosecutor's office as State Attorney.
Andi explained that the Borobudur Temple land certification effort had been started by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology since 2016.
"It turned out that in the process there was a clash of data with the local community," he said.
Therefore, Andi said, in 2020 the Central Java High Prosecutor's Office was given the power as State Attorney to handle the case.
Andi admitted that there had been objections from the people around Borobudur Temple to the certification process.
"Then we submitted it to the Magelang Land Office and it was accepted," he said.
