JAKARTA - The Minister of Trade (Mendag) Zulkifli Hasan (Zulhas) claims the prices of a number of basic necessities have fallen.

The price of bulk cooking oil in the Java-Bali region has reached Rp. 14,000 per liter.

In fact, said Zulkifli, there are already around Rp. 13,000 to Rp. 13,500 per liter.

"I usually use a bottle for Rp. 14,000. So thank God it worked. Vegetable oil, bulk oil or simple packaging of Rp. 14,000 or less," he said at Cibinong Market, Bogor, West Java, Friday, July 22.

Zulhas, as Zulkifli Hasan is known, said the price of rice was stable.

Meanwhile, the price of chicken eggs, which was previously Rp. 30,000 per kilogram, is currently Rp. 28,000 per kilogram.

As for the price of chicken, which was previously Rp. 40,000, now it is around Rp. 37,000 to Rp. 38,000 per kilogram.

"The number of red onions has decreased from Rp. 70,000 per kilogram to Rp. 40,000 per kilogram, chili from Rp. 150,000 per kilogram, now cayenne pepper is Rp. 70,000 per kilogram, curly chili is Rp. 80,000 per kilogram. much lower," he said.

However, admitted Zulhas, for eastern Indonesia, it is still being prepared.

He said he would send a large supply of cooking oil to Papua and Maluku. The distribution will work with Pelni.

"In cooperation with PT Pelni, send massively to reduce (the price). It's still expensive there, still Rp. 23,000 per liter, Papua and Maluku, and there really isn't any bulk oil, it's difficult there," he said.

Furthermore, Zulhas said, for the Sumatra, Sulawesi and Kalimantan regions, most of the cooking oil has been sold at a price of Rp. 14,000 per liter. There are even those under Rp. 14,000.
