When Is Tebet Eco Park Open? Anies Answer: It Should Be Soon
JAKARTA - The Governor of DKI Jakarta has opened his voice regarding the plan to reopen the Tebet Eco Park area, South Jakarta. After the planned opening was postponed a month ago, Anies said that Tebet Eco Park would reopen in the near future.
Anies said that the DKI Provincial Government is still making sure that the previously chaotic city parks can be used properly without damaging the environment.
"It should be (opened) immediately, temporarily. Make sure that the place is still comfortable, clean, and ensure that its users can also be disciplined. We will check again later, it should be soon," said Anies at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Friday, July 22.
Anies said that Tebet Eco Park will be used as a low emission zone (LEZ). When the park is re-opened, private motorized vehicles are prohibited from crossing the area around Tebet Eco Park.
However, the ban on crossing is exempted from public transportation, motorized vehicles belonging to local residents, to non-motorized vehicles such as bicycles.
"So, with the control through the low emission zone, it is hoped that later those who enter the area are those who actually live there or have business there," said Anies.
"As for residents who want to use the Tebet Ecopark, another place will be provided for them. So that later there will be no accumulation," he continued.
Separately, the South Jakarta City Government has prepared five parking locations ahead of the reopening of the Tebet Eco Park on Jalan Tebet Barat Raya, Tebet Barat Village, Tebet District.
Head of the South Jakarta Transportation Sub-dept., Susilo Dewanto, said that a number of parking spaces were prepared for two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles.
"The location is in Sarana Jaya Land, SMPN 73 Jakarta, Graha Pratama building, Wisma Pede building and gas stations at 31-128 gas stations," said Susilo.
