Two Of Biden's Early Programs Were To Fix Trump's 'Failure'
JAKARTA - The President-elect of the United States (US) Joe Biden called tackling the COVID-19 pandemic as his top priority. In addition, Biden also promised policies that could eliminate various forms of racism in the US. The two programs, however, demonstrate Biden's focus on Trump's publicly captured failings.
On COVID-19, Biden promised more testing for COVID-19. He also vowed to be a role model to give more encouragement to Americans to wear masks at any outdoor activity.
Launching the BBC on Monday, November 9, Biden is expected to appoint 12 members of the COVID-19 task force soon. Even so, this is still considered mere political rhetoric, considering that Biden's victory has not been officially announced.
In his first speech since winning the electoral college, Biden expressed his desire to unite the American people. Biden even wanted to speak directly to Trump supporters to immediately stop acting as enemies.
In preparation, he and Kemala Harris have launched a site for the US leadership transition. Biden, through his team said that they will continue to focus on the economy, overcoming racism and climate change.
The plan to tackle COVID-19 will be coupled with a variety of other promises, such as joining the US back in the Paris climate agreement, restoring US support to the World Health Organization (WHO), ending the flight ban to the US for seven Muslim countries, and restoring Obama-era policies, namely undocumented migrant status for children.
Tackle COVID-19Previously, Biden had promised to make major changes in the way the White House tackled COVID-19. According to Biden, his leadership against the pandemic can certainly be different. Trump, how public opinion is known as a figure who often underestimates COVID-19. Trump has also rejected health protocols, including wearing a mask and keeping your distance.

Biden's team also thought about the economy that fell to its lowest point due to the pandemic. Biden plans the US will increase manufacturing, invest in infrastructure, affordable maintenance and reduce the gap between different ethnic groups.
Against racismIn fighting racism, Biden has never played games. Even Biden plans to make handling racism the main pillar of his government. Some of these include ensuring access to affordable housing for black and minority communities, fair treatment and equal wages for whites and blacks.
Biden's team also added that they would continue police reform in the US that prohibited the use of choke neck techniques to criminals, who claimed many lives, including a black George Floyd who provoked massive protests.
To support this, Biden will stop the transfer of war weapons to the police force and immediately set up a national police oversight commission. The most interesting thing about Biden's plan is that he will reduce the US prison population.
