Ahead Of Launching Debut Album, Louis Tomlinson Releases Single Walls
JAKARTA - After releasing Don't Let It Break Your Heart at the end of 2019, solo singer and One Direction personnel, Louis Tomlinson released a new single. Walls is the fifth track from the album titled the same which will be released on January 31.
Prior to its release, Tomlinson said several times that the Walls song was his favorite song from this album. His personal writing is one of the points why this song is so close to him. The lyrics of this song he composed with Jamie Hartman, Dave Gibson, Jacob Manson, and Noel Gallagher.

Through a lyric video and music video, the singer appeared to sing the pop rock track accompanied by the band. Lasting 4 minutes, the audience was shown Tomlinson standing alone behind a large wall at a place. This scene may remind you of Oasis's Live Forever video clip.
A few minutes later the scene moves to when he is at a party where the other guests have partners. There is also Tomlinson surrounded by people wearing masks, depicting only himself not covering his face.
A reference to One Direction is also seen here. In the bridge section, the scene of Tomlinson facing four people standing in one empty position. When he stood between them, the shadow of the person to the far right slowly blurred as if to symbolize One Direction, who now only have four. Excerpt from the lyrics, “So this one is a thank you for what you did to me. Why is it that thank you are so often bittersweet? " reinforce this scene.
With a predominance of guitar and a bit of drumming and orchestration, this track is easy to digest. The oldest member of One Direction revealed, this song was made after completing the last One Direction tour. This song is about the challenges that take place in change and the challenges of a relationship but which strengthens a person in the end.
Walls was the last track to be the promotional single from Tomlinson's first solo album, following up on Kill My Mind, Two Of Us, We Made It, and Don't Let It Break Your Heart. From a total of 12 tracks, 11 of which involve Tomlinson directly as songwriters and lyrics.
It didn't stop there. Tomlinson is scheduled to visit Jakarta for the Louis Tomlinson World Tour on April 20, 2020. He is confirmed to be singing a number of songs from his latest album as well as his old songs.
