Expelled From Fantastic Beasts, Johnny Depp Still Receives Full Honor
JAKARTA - Warner Bros. confirmed last Friday, Johnny Depp left the third film Fantastic Beasts. Even so, Depp will receive a full eight-figure honorarium according to the contract.
Launching The Hollywood Reporter, Tuesday, November 10, Warner Bros. still provides full honorarium even though he only recorded one scene on September 20 in London.
"Like many A-level stars, Depp has a pay or play contract, which requires him to compensate even if a film is made or not made and changes roles."
“Technically, Depp was not fired by Warner Bros but asked to step down. Don't know what path to take if the actor refuses. "
Johnny Depp made his first cameo debut in the first film before playing Gellert Grinderwald in full in the sequel Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald.
Depp was asked to leave after losing a trial against The Sun in which the British media described Depp as a "wife beater".
The Hollywood band Vampires will appeal and continue the trial against his ex-wife, Amber Heard.
Warner Bros. will find a replacement for Gellert Grinderwald and continue shooting so that the third Fantastic Beasts film can be shown as scheduled, namely July 15, 2022.
