BPBD Pamekasan Evacuates Victims Of Motor Ship Collision
PAMEKASAN - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Pamekasan, East Java, evacuated fishermen who were victims of a ship collision at Pasean Pier.
"The fisherman who was the victim of the ship collision is Syamsuri from Sampang," said Pamekasan Regency Government BPBD Rapid Response Team (TRC) Coordinator Budi Cahyono as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, July 21.
The fishing boat that hit the end of the pier was the Sumber Urib Motor Ship which was carrying five fishermen. Four people survived and one disappeared into the sea.
BPBD Pamekasan received a report of the marine accident the day after the incident, namely on July 20, 2022 and went straight to the scene of the incident on the coast of Pasean Beach in the north of Pamekasan City.
"When they arrived there, someone reported directly to the team that the residents had found a corpse," said Budi.
The team then went to the location where the body was found and it turned out that the person concerned was indeed the victim of a ship that was hit at Pasean Pier.
"The victim was then taken to Sampang by using the PMI Sampang car to the funeral home," he said, explaining.
This marine accident in the Java Sea on the northern coast of Madura Island is the second time in the last two years.
Previously, in January 2021, KM TB Mitra Jaya XIX for the Surabaya-Kalimantan route also experienced a collision with KM Tanto Bersinar.
