Children's Equipment Becomes Methamphetamine Courier, Police Arrest Members Of Motorcycle Gangs In Bandung
BANDUNG - Police have arrested a member of a motorcycle gang in Bandung Regency, West Java, who is suspected of using a number of children as couriers for shabu-shabu.
Bandung Police Chief Kombes Pol Kusworo Wibowo said the motorcycle gang member who was the perpetrator had the initials RP (19). Initially, he said, RP was found to have a plastic bag filled with drugs.
"The person concerned admitted that he was still a motorcycle gang. Then it was revealed that one plastic methamphetamine. Starting from the drugs, we raided his house," said Kusworo at the Bandung Police, Bandung Regency, West Java, quoted from Antara, Thursday, July 21.
After conducting an investigation into RP's residence, according to him, the police found a number of long-barreled and short-barreled homemade firearms that allegedly belonged to the perpetrator.
"So (the perpetrator) asked the minor to help deliver the package (shabu) ordered by the user," said Kusworo.
According to him, the police will also investigate the possession of the homemade firearm. The reason, he said, the firearm was allegedly used by the perpetrators to carry out threats.
Based on the examination, Kusworo said that RP joined the motorcycle gang based on the invitation of two people who are still being sought (DPO), namely RB and SA. In the motorcycle gang, RP was recruited as a drug courier.
However, Kusworo suspects that RP actually employs minors to become meth couriers. Then the methamphetamine, he said, was sold to a number of users such as workers, laborers, and even students.
For this reason, according to him, the police will also apply layered articles to the RP. In addition to the article on narcotics trafficking, according to him, RP can also be charged with the article on the exploitation of minors.
But so far, the perpetrators are still being charged with Article 114 Paragraph 1 or Article 112 Paragraph 1 of Law Number 35 Year 2009 regarding narcotics abuse. The perpetrators face a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison and a fine of IDR 10 billion.
