Demonstrators Urge Investigation Of Alleged Corruption Suharso Monoarfa, KPK Asked To Form Investigation Team

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has again been urged to investigate allegations of corruption by the Minister of National Development Planning (PPN) or Bappenas Suharso Monoarfa. Pressure arose from the Anti-Corruption Student Committee (Komasi).

"We came back and asked the KPK to immediately investigate the alleged corruption and acceptance of gratification by Suharso," said Aril, who was the coordinator of the action at the KPK's Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Wednesday, July 20.

An investigation team, said Aril, should immediately be formed to investigate the alleged corruption committed by Suharso. Moreover, this report was submitted to the KPK since May 2020.

There are several indications that support this assumption. Among them is the increase in wealth owned by Suharso in the State Administrators Wealth Report (LHKPN) which is reported to the KPK.

Not only that, Aril also mentioned the use of a private jet that had been carried out by the General Chairman of the United Development Party (PPP). "We are here, demanding that the KPK continue with the existing reports," he said.

"Such as the odd State Administrators Wealth Report (LHKPN) and the gratification of the use of private jets," continued Aril.

The wealth irregularity can be read in the LHKPN because in 2018 Suharso had a wealth of Rp. 84 million. However, that figure increased to Rp. 59 billion.

According to him, a significant increase in wealth should be suspected and investigated by the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) and the KPK. The goal is to uncover the facts that actually happened.

"KPK must not remain silent, it must be able to carry out the constitutional commitment of the state law to uphold the rule of law. In order to destroy corruption in Indonesia," he concluded.
