Inter Milan Is Widely Approached, Paulo Dybala Is Officially In AS Roma Uniform

JAKARTA — AS Roma has officially signed Paulo Dybala from Juventus. The Argentina international was obtained on a free transfer.

Roma have confirmed the 28-year-old's signing on their English-language Twitter on Wednesday 20 July. Dybala has signed a contract until 2025.

"The club is delighted to confirm the signing of the world-famous forward!" reads the tweet of the Capital Wolf.

This move clearly slapped Inter Milan in the face, which was previously widely associated with the Cordoba-born player. Instead, Dybala chose the capital team as his new port.

The Dybala transfer saga has started since last March since Juventus made sure not to offer a new contract. Since then, many top European clubs have been interested in him.

However, the player's desire to stay in Italy made Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur resign.

Inter then emerged as the strongest candidate for Dybala's services. However, they have not been active in the transfer market.

"I join a team that is on the rise, a club that continues to lay a strong foundation for the future, and a coach, Jose Mourinho, who it would be a privilege to work with," Dybala said.

"As an opponent I have always admired the atmosphere created by the Roma fans. I now can't wait for the opportunity to salute them while wearing this jersey."

Dybala is estimated to receive 6 million euros per season at Roma plus bonuses. In addition to signing a three-year contract, Dybala also has the option of extending his contract in a fourth year.

The former Palermo player spent seven years with Juventus, from 2015 to 2022. During that time, he made 293 appearances in all competitions, scoring 115 goals and providing 48 assists.
