Overacting! Thrown By A Fish In The Middle Of The Match, The Argentinian Club Striker Fell To The Ground And Had To Be Carried Off The Pitch
JAKARTA - An unexpected incident was experienced by one of the players of the Argentine League club, Leandro Fernandez. The Independiente striker received an unexpected attack that left him lying on the ground while defending the team.
Quoted from The Sun, Wednesday, Leandro Fernandez was thrown by the opposing club's supporters who hit him in the face. Because of the incident, the player fell and was carried off the field on a stretcher.
The moment occurred when Independiente traveled to the Racing Club headquarters at the Estadio Presidente Peron on 11 July. As the match progressed, Racing took a quick 1-0 lead when the game had only been running for eight minutes.
With the strong rivalry between the two teams, the match was also fierce and hard. Although there was no red card, the referee still issued eight yellow cards.
There was no physical contact or fights between the players, however, chaos actually occurred because the home fans behaved badly in the match.
In a clip circulating on social media, a fan throws fish at Fernandes. The fresh fish that was thrown hit the 31-year-old forward's face and sent Fernandez lying down and had to be carried out on a stretcher.
Luckily, after receiving treatment, Fernandes did not suffer serious injuries. He also returned to the field to help his team to victory.
However, his efforts have not been successful because the match still ended 1-0 for the host victory.
As a result of this incident, Fernandez seems to still want to avoid social media because the video when he was thrown by a fish went viral and it embarrassed him.
“Everything was fun and games until someone brought trout to mooey,” said one netizen.
"And people think aquaman is not strong," another commented.
