Monitoring Brigadier J's Case, Commission III Of The DPR Asks The Police To Respect Brigadier J's Family's Rights For Re-Autopsy
JAKARTA - Commission III of the House of Representatives continues to monitor the handling of the shootout case that killed Brigadier Nofriansyah Yosua Hutabarat alias Brigadier J at the official house of the inactive Head of the National Police Propam Division, Inspector General Ferdy Sambo. Member of Commission III of the DPR from the PPP faction, Arsul Sani, acknowledged that he respected the rights of Brigadier J's family, who suspected that they had found irregularities in the body of aide Ferdy Sambo, and therefore asked for a re-autopsy.
"We respect the right of the family of the late Brigadier J to seek and obtain justice for the events that happened to Brigadier J," Arsul told reporters, Wednesday, July 20. However, Arsul gave an appeal to the public not to speculate on their own just by hearing or reading from the statements of each related party. The chairman of the MPR, a special team formed by the National Police Chief both internally and Komnas HAM and other related parties involved in disclosing the fact that the police shot the policeman must also listen to statements from the family.
"The National Police Team, Komnas HAM and Kompolnas need to hear and review all information and explanations, including those that come from the family," explained Arsul. The PPP politician hopes that the handling of this case can be quickly resolved.
"The different statements are the task of the team under the responsibility of the Deputy Chief of Police, as well as the Komnas HAM and Kompolnas teams to verify them based on the investigation process they are carrying out," said Arsul.
Meanwhile, the National Police also allowed Brigadier J's family to determine for themselves a forensic doctor for the purpose of the autopsy process related to the shooting case at the official house of the inactive Head of the Propam Division Inspector General Ferdy Sambo.
The Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police, Inspector General Dedi Prasetyo, said that this was allowed because the Police appreciated the exhumation or exhumation of bodies or the dismantling of graves carried out for justice by the authorities and concerned. Furthermore, the corpse was examined by forensic medicine.
"Yes, yes, because the exhumation is for the sake of justice. For the sake of justice, the expert in his field of forensic medicine already has one," Dedi told reporters, Jakarta, Wednesday, July 20.
This, said Dedi, was in line with the spirit to prioritize transparency and objectivity in thoroughly investigating the case of the shooting of Brigadier J.
"In order to maintain transparency and accountability, we may take forensic experts from credible universities to witness the process together and we are the same and the lawyers are witnessing. So we will be as open as possible in the investigation process," said Dedi.
