JAYAPURA - Nduga Police personnel assisted by the Peace Task Force Cartenz and the TNI evacuate one victim of the KKB shooting in Kenyam District, Nduga, Papua
The Head of Public Relations of the Papua Police, Kombes Ahmad Musthofa Kamal, said the victim who was evacuated was Roy Manampiring (42). Roy became a victim of the KKB brutality that carried out the shooting on Saturday, July 16.
"The body of (Roy Manampiring) was one of the victims of the murder on Saturday, July 16 by KKB led by Egianus Kogoya, to be precise, on the Adu Mama 2 (two) hills, Kenyam District, Nduga Regency," said Kombes Kamal, Wednesday, July 20.
Kombes Kamal explained that the victim initially did not know about the killing of 10 civilians in the villages of Kenyam, Nogolait and Yosoma.
At that time, the victim walked from the camp in the area of the new airport construction to Kenyam District, Nduga Regency.
“According to information from the community, the victim at that time walked from Batas Batu to Kenyam with several OAP (Indigenous Papuan) people. However, on the way, the victim and the OAP community met with the KKB, so that some of the OAP people immediately fled to the forest and separated from the victim," said Kombes Kamal.
Currently, Roy's victim is buried at the Kenyam Health Center. The plan is that the bodies will be flown to Mimika.
The evacuation of the victims was carried out after the confusion of information about the total number of victims who died due to the KKB shooting. The police also asked the community for help to determine the exact location of the victim
"After knowing the position of the body, joint personnel went to the location to check the information. However, before arriving at the scene, the joint personnel were attacked with gunfire from both sides," continued Kombes Kamal.
Due to this condition, the joint personnel returned to the post. Until finally at 02.00 WIT, Wednesday, July 20, joint personnel returned to the location.
“Joint personnel returned to the scene to evacuate the bodies of the victims. The victim's body was then taken to the Kenyam Health Center for further examination," said Kombes Kamal.
