What A Shame! Try To Bribe The Police With Rp. 1 Million Because He Was Caught Drunk, This Man Was Even Sentenced To 8 Weeks In Prison

JAKARTA - What a shame. This man dared to try to bribe the Singapore police. Instead of succeeding, he was sentenced to 8 weeks in prison.

This incident occurred on December 3, 2019. The man named Han Shaolu was resting in his car which was parked in an open parking lot in Geylang.

Suddenly two two officers came to him.

Han Shaolu consciously offered them 100 Singapore dollars.

Even the offer also applies to the next officer who comes so as not to arrest him, as said by the Bureau of Corruption Practices (CPIB) in a news release quoted by Channel News Asia, Monday 18 July.

Officers did not accept bribes, and reported the case to CPIB.

Han was indicted in court in June 2020 for offenses under the Corruption Prevention Act.

Anyone convicted of a corruption offense can be jailed for up to five years, fined up to S$100,000, or both.

38-year-old Han Shaolu was eventually sentenced to eight weeks in prison for trying to bribe a traffic police officer after he was suspected of drunk driving.
