Meanwhile, candidate number 3 for mayor of Makassar, Syamsu Rizal (Deng Ical) explained the mission of Makassar Maju. This mission, continued Deng Ical, is realized by prioritizing building the quality of human resources.

According to him, attention to education is not just allocating 20 percent of the Makassar City APBD. But it also involves other components such as the use of Corporate Social Responsibility and other components of society.
Meanwhile, the vice mayor candidate number 2 Abdul Rahman Bando shared his experience when he served as Acting Head of the Makassar City Education Office. According to him, there is an imbalance in education.
"Our 11,500 teachers in public, private schools do not have a budget to increase human resources. The 2015-2019 education sector budget continues to decline," he said.
