Anyone Who Has Info On TransJakarta Bus Stop Burners, Report It Because LPSK Is Ready To Protect
JAKARTA - The Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) is ready to provide protection for witnesses who see and know the perpetrators of the burning of the TransJakarta bus stop in the Sarinah area, Central Jakarta.
LPSK also encouraged witnesses not to be afraid to report and provide information for the sake of revealing motives, evidence, and perpetrators in the incident that took place in the middle of a demonstration against the Job Creation Law, Thursday, October 8.
Deputy Chairman of LPSK, Edwin Partogi, in his statement in Jakarta, Saturday, said that the legal process against the perpetrators must be enforced in accordance with the applicable regulations.
"Supporting the police to thoroughly investigate the case and declare that they are ready to coordinate regarding the protection of witnesses who want to provide information in order to receive guaranteed protection," said Edwin.
Edwin emphasized that his agency opened itself up if there were witnesses in the alleged burning of the TransJakarta bus stop who wanted to apply for protection.
Protection of witnesses, he said, was important so that they could feel calmer in giving their testimony.
"We hope that the witness can safely testify without feeling anxious and threatening," he said.
In addition, he also hopes that this destructive action will not happen again in the future. According to him, the burning of the TransJakarta bus stop was actually detrimental to the general public who wanted to do activities using public facilities.
