Angke River Overflow, Ciledug Indah 1 Flood Up To 1 Meter, Residents: Cars Moved Since Night

TANGERANG - Rain with high intensity resulted in a number of points in Tangerang City being flooded, one of which was in the Ciledug Indah 1 area.

Nanda, a local resident, said that the signs of water starting to submerge the area of his house occurred on Friday, July 15, around 23.00 WIB.

At that time he and the residents took the initiative to move the parking lot of their vehicle to a higher location to prevent the engine from being damaged due to being submerged in water.

Floods began to submerge the area on Saturday, July 16, at around 00.01 WIB.

According to him, the cause of the flooding was due to the high intensity of rain since last night followed by the overflow of the Angke River, Bogor, West Java.

"If the flood goes up at 12 at night, it just goes up. Because it rains in the afternoon and the number of times overflows. Cars and motorbikes are all moved to a safer front, starting at 23.00 WIB," said Nanda to VOI in his neighborhood on Jalan Telaga 4, Ciledug Indah 1 Complex, Karang Tengah, Tangerang City, Saturday, July 16.

Nanda said that in his neighborhood the water level reached 40 centimeters. However, on Jalan Pelangi the height reaches 1 meter.

"If it's 1 meter behind, it's rich. if here (at his house) 40 centimeters. basically if it's waist-deep here, there (Jalan Pelangi) it's waist-deep. But now the water has started to recede, little by little," he said

"Because the road goes down, it's the most backward, the worst," he continued.

Previously reported, the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Tangerang City recorded 19 flood points that submerged the area. It is known that the height of the flood varies from 30 centimeters to 1.5 meters.

Head of the Emergency and Logistics Division of the Tangerang City BPBD, Ghufron Falfeli, said that if the flood was caused by high rainfall intensity, as well as overflowing water, both in the Cisadane River and Angke River.

"Currently, the status is on alert because several streams of water have overflowed and submerged people's houses and roads," he said, Saturday, July 16.
