Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution: Development Must See What People Need

MEDAN - Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution said that development planning must take into account the needs of the community.

"A development like the one in Medan City is going well, not only according to the local government, but also by the community," Bobby said in Medan, North Sumatra, as reported by ANTARA, Friday, July 15.

Bobby Nasution said this after opening the seminar "Planning Cities in Indonesia and Support for Post-Covid-19 ASN Performance Management" which was attended by the Bappeda of regencies/cities throughout North Sumatra, and Bappeda joined in the Regional Commission (Komwil) I of the All City Government Association. Indonesia (Apeksi) in Medan.

Moreover, he continued, his position as Mayor of Medan will end in 2024. Therefore, his party wants all development in the North Sumatran provincial capital to continue even though the COVID-19 pandemic has not ended.

"Of course, adjustments are needed in planning work during the COVID-19 pandemic, and they must be implemented. In addition, they must be literate in the use of digitalization and technology," he continued.

Bobby Nasution appreciated this seminar as a forum for sharing experiences related to development performance after COVID-19 so that it could be implemented according to the characteristics of each region.

There are two things that become the focus of this seminar, namely to discuss the successful implementation of development planning in cities throughout Indonesia.

The head of Medan City Bappeda, Benny Iskandar, reported that the aim of this seminar is how to organize the city so that development planning in this area is carried out properly.

In addition, accelerating and implementing the Medan City tagline, namely #MedanKolaborasi.

"This collaboration is a synergy of various elements not only in Medan City, but in all regions in North Sumatra Province, including cities that are members of the Apeksi Komwil I," said Benny.
