Member Of Commission III Of The DPR PDIP Faction Apologizes For Choosing Lili Pintauli To Be Deputy Chairperson Of The Corruption Eradication Commission

JAKARTA - Member of Commission III of the DPR Trimedya Pandjaitan apologized for choosing Lili Pintauli Siregar as Deputy Chair of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

This request was made after the former Deputy Chairperson of the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) resigned amid the issue of alleged ethical violations.

Lili is suspected of violating ethics after receiving accommodation and tickets for the Mandalika MotoGP from PT Pertamina (Persero).

"First of all, I said yes, we are sorry for choosing Mrs. Lili Pintauli," said Trimedya to reporters, Friday, July 15.

This legislator from the PDI-P (PDIP) said the election for the leadership of the anti-corruption commission for the 2019-2023 period had seen the track record of each candidate submitted. Of the 10 names, one of them is Lili Pintauli Siregar.

Trimedya respects Lili's choice to step down from her position. However, he reminded that the legal process due to Lili's alleged acceptance should still be followed up.

Law enforcers, he continued, are welcome to investigate Lili's acceptance, which is suspected to be closely related to the act of accepting gratuities.

"If it's still possible, for example, law enforcement officers, please. That's gratification," said Trimedya.

He regretted if it was true that Lili would later be proven to have received gratuities for watching MotoGP. Thus, Trimedya asked that this allegation be investigated until it is clear.

"How much is the gratification, you know, we really regret it if it's true because of the business of watching MotoGP," he said.

As for the law enforcers who should handle this allegation, Trimedya assessed that the police could intervene. "And he's a former deputy chairman of the KPK, but it's impossible for the KPK to investigate. Other law enforcers can," he said.

Lili Pintauli was reported to the KPK Supervisory Board for allegedly receiving accommodation and tickets for the Mandalika MotoGP from PT Pertamina (Persero). In carrying out the investigation, Tumpak et al have asked for information from various parties including the President Director of PT Pertamina, Nicke Widyawati.

However, this trial was declared void because the former Deputy Chairperson of the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) resigned from his position. The KPK Council reasoned that Lili was no longer a member of the KPK.
