“People assume that because she's a girl, they want her to be gentle. They wished he was more lenient. Salima is a top referee. Very confident. There was already pressure to be a female referee but she never let me down. He is a great referee in my opinion," Zakaria Ali was quoted as saying by euronews.com, Friday.
Zakaria Ali also believes that the impact of Salima Mukansanga will be an inspiration to those watching in the stadium and its surroundings. "I believe we have an equally good referee. I actually don't like to call them female referees because they do the same course (as men)."
The world is now opening their minds that women can actually do jobs that some think are only for men.
