7 Witness Examined Strengthens Case Files Of Harassment Of High School Students By Former Solo PDAM Official

SOLO - Investigators from the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Surakarta City Police have examined seven witnesses related to the criminal case of sexual abuse of minors with the suspect being a former PDAM official in Solo, Central Java.

"There are seven witnesses who have been examined, possibly adding more to strengthen the case file with the suspect, a former Solo PDAM official with the initials TAS (53), a resident of Purwosari Solo," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Surakarta Police Djohan Andika in Solo, Antara, Friday, July 15.

What is clear, he said, is that his party has met at least two pieces of evidence before establishing someone as a suspect. According to Andika, the case file was compiled as soon as possible and the first stage was immediately transferred to be investigated by the public prosecutor of the Kejari Surakarta.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Surakarta Police, Kombes Ade Safri Simanjuntak, said that his party had succeeded in uncovering the obscenity case by detaining the perpetrator with the initials TAS (53), one of the directors of PDAM Surakarta.

The victim of a minor is still a high school student who is the son of a mother who is still the suspect's childhood friend.

The police succeeded in uncovering the case of sexual abuse of minors starting from a report from the victim's father on June 21, 2022.

The police then conducted an investigation followed by an investigation after establishing TAS as a suspect. TAS was arrested in his office on July 4, 2022

The police chief explained that the suspect's modus operandi was to trick and seduce the victim, among others, by showing the victim pornographic videos. Next, the suspect molested the victim.

"The suspect used coercion and trickery and persuaded the victim to commit obscene acts at a number of crime scenes, including in the car belonging to the perpetrator, the victim's mother's car, and in the swimming pool at several hotels in Solo from December 3, 2021 to April 1 2022," said the Chief of Police

The suspect also showed the victim an immoral video and a ruse that TAS claimed to also be able to help with learning problems at school. The police immediately arrested him on July 4 and detained the perpetrator on July 5, 2022.

In addition, the police managed to confiscate a number of evidences, including three pots of bidara plants used for deception to drive away spirits, a number of cellphones, the victim's and suspect's clothes, both swimsuits and shorts, as well as electronic documents of pornographic videos.

The suspect is charged with Article 82 paragraph (1) of RI Law No.17/2016, concerning the Stipulation of Government Regulation in lieu of RI Law No.1/2016, concerning the second amendment to RI Law No.23/2002 concerning Child Protection into Law. The legal threat is a minimum of five years and a maximum of 15 years.
