DKI Permits Building To Hold Wedding Reception, But Must Apply For Permit

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government officially allows each building to open wedding reception services during the transitional PSBB period. Previously, the provincial government only allowed the marriage contract without a reception.

Although it is allowed, DKI Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Disparekraf) Head of Tourism Industry, Bambang Ismadi, said that each building must apply for a license.

"Meeting buildings, venues, or hotels that will hold wedding receptions are welcome to submit a request to the Jakarta Provincial Government joint team," Bambang told reporters, Friday, November 6.

The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government joint team consists of Disparekraf, Health Service, Communication and Information Office, and several related stakeholders. This party who will assess a place can guarantee the implementation of health protocols or not.

"Building managers must attach a health protocol proposal. What is clear, this protocol is made for the capacity of people in the building by 25 percent," said Bambang.

Some time ago, DKI Deputy Governor Ahmad Riza Patria reviewed a simulation of the application of health protocols in the implementation of an indoor wedding reception, which was held at the Sasana Kriya Ballroom, Taman Mini Indonesia Indah.

According to Riza, the simulation of implementing a wedding reception in a building during the COVID-19 pandemic can be a guide if it is allowed, the public can hold a wedding reception according to health protocols.

"Of course this wedding reception will have a big impact on the economy, because there is a multiplier effect for thousands of employees who are almost at risk of layoffs. Hopefully, after seven months of not being allowed to operate, in the future we can start the opening by implementing strict health protocols. "said Riza on Thursday, October 22.

Following are the health protocols when wedding receptions are permitted:

1. Ensure that the building provider provides a metal detector or x-ray to detect items being brought and checks the body temperature of guests using a temperature scanner or thermo-gun.
