Mayor Of Sorong Reminds All Parties Not To Sell Land And Islands Only For Tourism And Investment Purposes: Later Our Children And Grandchildren Can Cry

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Regional Leadership Council of the West Papua Golkar Party Lamberthus Jitmau reminded all parties in Teluk Wondama Regency not to sell land and islands in the area only for tourism or investment purposes.

"Please take care, both at sea and on land, even on islands. Because our children, our grandchildren, one day don't cry because of what we are doing now. Let them enjoy the nature that God has given us from generation to generation. from generation to generation. Take care, this is the pride of our children and grandchildren," said Jitmau in Wasior, quoted from Antara, Thursday, July 14.

Jitmau, who is also the Mayor of Sorong City, specifically came to Wasior, the capital of Teluk Wondama Regency in order to inaugurate the management of the Golkar Party DPD Teluk Wondama for the 2020-2025 term.

He was amazed and fascinated by the natural beauty of the district which is located on the northern lip of Papua Island, precisely in the Cenderawasih Bay area.

Jitmau openly praised Wondama which has the Wondiboi Mountains with virgin forests, a calm expanse of blue sea in the bay, as well as a group of islands that are still awake as the most beautiful in West Papua Province.

"On a green mountain with virgin forest, look over there there is a blue sea. Those beautiful islands, the Regent convey to everyone. Don't sell it. Not even a percent. That's the wealth of the Papuan people," he said.

Even Jitmau compared Wondama's landscape to be far more enchanting than Raja Ampat Regency, one of the premium tourist destinations in Indonesia which is well known to foreign countries.

"It's not Raja Ampat that is beautiful, actually Wondama is beautiful. Let's talk about the island, booh (in Wondama) a beautiful island without being inhabited and bought by anyone. Everything belongs to us. who is predicted to run for governor in the 2024 gubernatorial election.
