West Surabaya Residents Info, PDAM Distribution Disrupted Due To Leaking Pipes
JAKARTA - The distribution of water for regional drinking water companies in the western part of Surabaya was disrupted due to a leaking 500 mm (0.5 m) diameter pipe 100 meters long on Jalan Raya Bangkingan, Surabaya City, East Java.
Director of the Regional Drinking Water Company (PDAM) Surya Sembada Surabaya City Arief Wisnu Cahyono said repairs to the leaky pipe on Jalan Raya Bangkingan had been carried out today and at 22.00 WIB the pipe connection would be carried out.
"The estimated repair of a leaky pipe is around 4 to 7 hours," said Wisnu, Wednesday, June 13, quoted from Antara.
According to him, as a result of this work, the distribution of water to customers is reduced so that it does not come out in the Kebraon area, Balas Klumprik, Pondok Maritim, Grand Harvest, Alamuda Residence, Kemilau Griyaku Regency, Saumberan, Pondok Manggala, Goldern regency.
In addition, the Sumur Welut Flats, Bangkingan, Mutiara Regency, Tlogo Tanjung, Gadung, Lidah Kulon, Menganti Jeruk, Lakarsantri, Perum Citra Sentosa, Made, Ngemplak, Alas Malang, Griya Citra Asri, Bringin, Klalah Rejo, Raya Sawo, Tengger, Banjar Sugihan and its surroundings.
"We apologize to the residents of Surabaya for this inconvenience," said Wisnu.
For that, he continued, his party appealed to affected residents to accommodate sufficient water and those who need free tank water (1 tank for 5-7 families) can contact the call center 08001926666 (toll-free) or send messages via WA Center 08123316666 coordinated by Head of local RT/RW.
As for the location of the leak, Wisnu continued, it was in the yard of a resident's house which was built on state land (irrigated land). As a result, the 100 meter long pipeline had to be relocated.
Wisnu said the relocation work had been carried out and on Wednesday night a connection with the old line would be made.
"Handling at residents' homes had problems," said Vishnu.
