Singapore Open 2022 Results: Fajar/Rian And Hendra/Ahsan Following, 9 Indonesian Representatives Head For The Big 16
JAKARTA — Men's doubles Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto and Hendra Setiawan/Mohammad Ahsan stepped into the round of 16 of the Singapore Open 2022.
The two pairs won the last two tickets for Indonesia at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, Singapore, on Wednesday, July 13.
Fajar/Rian qualified after defeating Chinese representatives Liu Yuchen/Ou Xuan Yi in a straight two-game match 21–18 and 21-15.
Meanwhile, Hendra/Ahsan eliminated their juniors Bagas Maulana/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri with a score of 21-17 and 21-15.
The success of Fajar/Rian and Hendra/Ahsan made Indonesia place 12 representatives in the second round of the BWF Super 500 level event.
Men's doubles became the sector that sent the most representatives. A total of four representatives who escaped from the five representatives who fought from the first round.
Following in second place is the men's singles number. Of the four representatives who fought in the first round, only Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo failed to advance.
Women's doubles and mixed doubles have two representatives each. The women's singles was only represented by Gregoria Mariska Tunjung.
