Polda Jatim Checks 12 Points When TKP Processing Of Economic Exploitation Of Children At SPI School In Batu City, Victims Are Employed For Food Production

KOTA BATU - The East Java Regional Police examined 12 points when conducting a crime scene (TKP) case of alleged economic exploitation of children that occurred at the Indonesian Good Morning School (SPI) Batu City.

The Head of Public Relations of the East Java Police, Kombes Dirmanto, said that the crime scene was carried out by the Directorate of General Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimum) and the Inafis team of the East Java Police and Batu Police from 10.30 to 13.30 WIB.

"This afternoon, the TKP has been declared complete and there are 12 points or spots that have been inspected," said Dirmanto, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, July 13.

Meanwhile, the Director of General Criminal Investigation (Dirreskrimum) of the East Java Police, Kombes Pol. Totok Suharyanto added that the examination at the 12 points was in accordance with the testimony of the victim's witnesses to the reported party with the initials JE.

During the TKP process at the SPI School on Jalan Raya Pandanrejo, Bumiaji District, Batu City, the East Java Police brought in two male and female victim witnesses with the initials OL and WY.

Totok said that as many as 12 points were suspected to be places where economic exploitation of children took place. These places are related to the production of food products at the school.

"The first is related to the production process or the place for marketing, that's one of them. Second, there are several rides that are used as places for visiting guests, where these students are employed," he said.

In addition to conducting TKP at the 12 points, the East Java Regional Police also obtained a number of documents, one of which contained the names of students in the period 2008-2010.

"There are several documents that we were able to find, one of which is a document relating to the names of students from 2008 to 2010. The others are of course technically as evidence in the process of investigation and investigation," he said.

Meanwhile, JE's attorney, Jeffry Simatupang, said that the Batu City SPI School was open to the authorities who would investigate the alleged economic exploitation of the child.

However, he continued, the investigation must indeed be equipped with a number of legal bases prepared by the East Java Regional Police. In the process of processing the crime scene this time, the East Java Police fulfilled all the formal requirements for carrying out an investigation.

"Basically, the SPI party, as long as there is a legal basis, there is a letter of assignment, the point is that the formal requirements are met, the SPI will be open. We are also not afraid because we are sure that it will not happen," he said.

The case of economic exploitation of children at the Batu City SPI was first handled by the Bali Police, then transferred to the East Java Police Ditreskrimum on 26 April 2022. The reported party in this case is the owner of the Batu City SPI with the initials JE.

JE himself is currently undergoing detention related to a case of alleged sexual violence at the Class IA Penitentiary (Lapas) Malang, East Java, since July 11, 2022. It is planned that JE will undergo another trial at the Malang Class IA District Court (PN Malang) on Wednesday (20/7) with the agenda of reading the demands.
