MEDAN - The Criminal Investigation Unit Team of Pematangsiantar Police, North Sumatra, arrested a man named Liharmansyah Saragih (27). The man was arrested after killing his girlfriend, RD (28) because of hurt feelings.

Head of Public Relations of Pematangsiantar Police, AKP Rusdi Ahya, explained that the incident began when the perpetrator saw the victim receiving a visitor from a man he did not know, Sunday, July 10 in the morning.

The perpetrator saw the man enter the victim's boarding room which is located on Jalan Rondahaim, Tanjung Pinggir Village, Siantar Martoba District, Pematangsiantar City.

"Between the perpetrator and the victim, they had a relationship for more than a year. Because the perpetrator's room was on the same wall and the perpetrator was sleeping in his boarding house and so the perpetrator was listening to the voices between the victim and the man he didn't know," said AKP Rusdi, Tuesday 12 July.

Hearing the sound, made the perpetrator unable to sleep. Unable to do anything, the perpetrator could only cry and contemplate in his room.

Then, at around 11.30 WIB, the victim and the man came out of the room and returned at 12.00 WIB. Next, the victim met the perpetrator and asked him to visit Batu Island baths (Pulbat).

Then the perpetrator and the victim met at the boarding house and the victim invited the perpetrator to visit Batu Island Baths (Pulbat) on Jl. Sibatu-batu Ex. Basorma district. Siantar Sitalasari Pematangsiantar city.

"The victim's invitation was accepted and the perpetrator immediately put the clothes into his bag. In the bag there had been a cutter knife for a long time and the two of them went to the bathing location using an angkot," he said.

After arriving at the location, the perpetrator then asked the victim about the relationship between the two. However, the victim answered in a high tone and cursed and slapped the perpetrator.

"The position of the perpetrator at that time was in a squatting position and immediately grabbed the victim's hair using both hands. The victim responded by grabbing the perpetrator's hair again," he said.

"After that, the perpetrator strangled the victim's neck using both hands until the victim went limp and fell to the ground in a supine position. Next, the perpetrator took a cutter knife from the perpetrator's bag and slashed the front of the victim's neck 3 times until it broke," he continued.

It didn't stop there, the assailant took off the victim's clothes and stuffed her mouth and nostrils with a stick. The suspect then took off the victim's pants.

"The perpetrator then took 2 twigs and stabbed them. Then again, the perpetrator took 2 sticks of wood and stabbed them into the victim's genital hole," he explained.

After seeing the victim's lifeless, the perpetrator then covered his body using leaves. The perpetrator then left the location and returned to using an angkot.

"But after being in his room, the perpetrator reflected and regretted his actions and felt guilty. At 23.00 WIB, the perpetrator went to the Siantar Martoba Police and told all his actions to the SPK personnel of the Aiptu TK Simanjuntak Police," he said.

Hearing the perpetrator's confession, the police contacted the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit at Pematangsiantar Police. Subsequently, the police visited the location and took the victim's body to the hospital for an autopsy.

"Meanwhile, the suspect was detained for further examination at the Pematangsiantar Police Satreskrim. For his actions, the perpetrator was charged with Article 338 subsidiary 351 paragraph (3) of the Criminal Code," said AKP Rusdi.
