Australian Gambling City Pays 16.5 Million US Dollars For Biden Victory

JAKARTA - An Australian bookie paid 16.5 million US dollars to people who bet on Joe Biden's victory in the US election.

Payment for the bet has been awarded even though the official results of the electoral vote count in the US election have not yet been determined.

Former US Vice President Joe Biden has said he is headed for victory, although President Donald Trump has also claimed he won and is working on lawsuits and a vote recount.

Still, bookmaker Sportsbet in Australia says it has paid out winnings for more than 100,000 bets on Biden's win.

"We are very confident that Biden will end up in the Oval Office," said a spokesman for Australian bookmaker Sportsbet.

The Oval Office or Oval Office is the official office of the President of the United States located in the West Wing of the White House in Washington.
