Proven Double Position, Head Of KPU Karangasem Regency Fired
JAKARTA - The head of the General Election Commission (KPU) of Karangasem Regency, I Gede Krisna Adi Widana was dismissed from his position because he was proven to have concurrent positions.
This was proven in the court hearing of the Election Organizer Honorary Council (DKPP). In its decision, DKPP stated that I Gede Krisna was proven to have violated the code of ethics and behavior.
"Imposing the stern warning and dismissal of the position of chairman to the accused I Gede Krisna Adi Widana as the head of the KPU Karangasem Regency as of the reading of this decision," said Chairman of the DKPP Panel of Judges, Alfitra Salamm, Wednesday, November 4.
In deciding the case number 93-PKE-DKPP / IX / 2020, I Gede Krisna was proven to have concurrently held the position of extracting or Associate Secretary of the Indigenous Village Community (MDA) of Karangasem Regency for the Transitional Service Period 2019-2020.
This was proven through a WhatsApp conversation on 14 August 2020 between I Gede Krisna and the Karangasem Regency MDA staff regarding Teradu's signature request in two drafts of invitation letters.
"The series of events proves that the Defendant is still actively carrying out his duties as the Karangasem MDA Extraction. So that the argument of the defendant who says he does not know his name is included in the MDA management cannot be accepted," said Assembly Member Didik Supriyanto.
During his concurrent position as the MDA of Karangasem Regency, I Gede Krisna was proven to have received an honorarium. This fact was confirmed in the list of honorarium recipients which contained the account number, NPWP, and signature of the Defendant stating that the honorarium had been received.
In this way, I Gede Krisna violated Article 6 Paragraph 2 (c), Article 7 Paragraph 1 and 12 (b), and Article 15 (a and c) of DKPP Regulation Number 2 of 2017 concerning the Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct for Election Administrators.
"What the Defendant did has hurt the integrity of the electoral institution, it is proven that the defendant does not have a high commitment to qualify as a member of the KPU Karangasem Regency," he said.
