Injuries During The Defense Of The Thailand Contras Team At AFF U-19, Marselino Tells Chronology: Listening In Feet When Force Passing
JAKARTA - The Indonesian U-19 National Team midfielder, Marselino Ferdinand, told the chronology of the injury he got against Thailand in the AFF U-19 Cup Group A match, Tuesday, July 6, 2022.
The Persebaya Surabaya player played as a starter in the match against Thailand. When the first half was about to end, Marselino was forced to be withdrawn to be replaced by Muhammad Ferrari due to injury.
Marselino was then thrown out and underwent further examination. The U-19 national team midfielder then explained why this injury could occur. "Yes, when yesterday I was tired of going down (to the defense zone), I forced myself to go down. After forced passing to the back, it immediately read here (pointing to the leg)," said Marselino when contacted by the General Chairperson of PSSI, Mochamad Iriawan via video call.
Marselino said that his current leg condition is slightly swollen. However, the good news is, this injury gradually recovers every day.
"Now (the injured leg) is a bit swollen but it has started to feel good. It has also been given medicine. Continue to therapy," said Marselino.
Previously reported, the coach of the U-19 Indonesian national team, Shin Tae-yong predicts that Marselino Ferdinand will be absent until the 2022 AFF U-19 Cup ends. He has also thought about replacing the pillar players in his team's midfield.
"I need time to think about our strategy and tactics without him," said Shin Tae-yong.
The Indonesian U-19 national team will play their next match against the Philippines at the Patriot Candrabhaga Stadium, Bekasi, Friday, July 8, evening.
