Rizieq Shihab Will Return To Indonesia, The Police Check His Legal Case
JAKARTA - The National Police will coordinate the handling of the case that caught Rizieq Shihab. Later it will be determined whether the case against the high priest of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) will continue or not.
"The case is that our HRS is coordinating, yes, we will wait for the results from the investigators," said Karo Penmas, Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Awi Setiyono to reporters, Wednesday, November 4.
Awi made this statement when asked about the next steps taken by the National Police regarding the handling of the Rizieq Shihab case. This is because Rizieq, who will return to Indonesia in the near future, is still a reported party in several cases.
However, Awi did not clearly explain the form of coordination in question. It is possible that later the Police will see the progress of the case.
"It will still be coordinated. One by one, we will see how it is," he said.
A number of cases that still make Rizieq Shihab a reported party, among others, the issue of insulting Sundanese culture. He mocked the Sundanese greeting 'Sampurasun' and reported it on November 24, 2015 with the status of being reported.
Then, Rizieq was also reported about the insult to Christianity in his lecture in East Jakarta. The report was recorded at Polda Metro Jaya on December 27, 2016.
