JAKARTA - PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BNI) disbursed financing to BUMN PT Sanghiang Perkasa (Kalbe Nutritionals) to install 2,970 solar panels or Solar Power Plants (PLTS) at Cikampek factory facilities, West Java.
BNI Corporate Secretary Mucharom said that this step is a tangible manifestation of the company's support for sustainable energy projects.
"For BNI, the implementation of green banking is one of the directives from the Financial Services Authority to help accelerate the energy transition in the real sector," he said in a press statement on Friday, July 8.
On the same occasion, Director of the Supply Chain and Innovation of Kalbe Nutritionals I Gede Putu Eka Putra said that this commitment is in line with the company's mission to implement a more sustainable business process by using green energy that is environmentally friendly.
"Through the initiative to install 2,970 solar panels with a capacity of 1,603 kWp, we are targeting the target to reduce carbon emissions by 2,104.66 tons per year," he said.
I Gede Putu hopes that the use of renewable energy can be an innovation as well as an effort to reduce energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions.
"We are aware that in running a business we also need to think about future steps, so that we can continue to synergize with the environment as a source of every nutritional product that we produce," he said.
Similarly, the Director of PT Aruna Cahaya Pratama (Aruna PV) Audwin Purwadi as the contractor for the PLTS project cultivator expressed his appreciation to BNI and Kalbe Nutritionals to jointly replace energy sources into green concepts in productive areas.
"This support for reducing carbon emissions will have an impact on installing solar panels elsewhere so that more business actors are moved to implement the green economy principle," he said.
