Extortion Of Goods Stalls In Kebon Pala, East Jakarta Burns, Capai Losses Of Rp. 150 Million

JAKARTA - Piles of used goods on Udayana Street, RT 02/03, Kebon Pala Village, Makasar District, East Jakarta, burned down, Thursday, July 7, evening.

Head of Operations for the East Jakarta Fire and Rescue (Gulkarmat) Sub-dept., Gatot Sulaeman, said that his party received reports of a fire at the location at 18.50 WIB.

Gatot said the cause of the fire was suspected to be an electrical short circuit.

"The owner was raising the used goods to the car, then the little boy saw the fire from inside the house, then the owner and local residents immediately ran, the fire grew," said Gatot when confirmed, Friday, July 8.

A total of 13 fire engines accompanied by 45 personnel were deployed to extinguish the fire that burned the stall covering an area of approximately 100 square meters.

"The blackout started at 19.03 WIB and ended at 21.08 WIB. The obstacle in extinguishing the fire was that the access to the location was an alley or narrow road, only 2,500 liters of the pump car could enter," he said.

There were no casualties in the incident but material losses were estimated at Rp. 150 million.

"There are four people who saved 1 family, yes, material losses are estimated at up to Rp. 150 million," he said.
