Papuan Sentani Airport Has Not Implemented A Mandatory Vaccine For COVID-19 Strengthening Vaccines

PAPUA - PT Angkasa Pura I Sentani Airport has not yet imposed a mandatory COVID-19 booster vaccine for passengers departing through Sentani Airport, Jayapura Regency, Papua."Indeed, until now the management is still waiting for regulations related to the booster vaccination policy, it will be a condition for the mobility of residents who want to travel by flight," said Public Relations of Sentani Airport, Surya Eka in Sentani, Antara, Thursday, July 7.Admittedly, previously there was indeed a directive from the President of the Republic of Indonesia through the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment regarding booster vaccinations which would be a condition for traveling.In fact, to facilitate each transportation location, a vaccination post will be provided, said Eka.Eka emphasized that Sentani Airport is ready to implement but is still waiting for regulations related to the booster vaccination policy which basically strongly supports government policies in dealing with the spread of the COVID-19 virus.One of the efforts that will be made is to prepare booster vaccine booths or the third dose of vaccine for travelers at Sentani airport in collaboration with the KKP Sentani Airport.Currently, Sentani Airport is still imposing travel requirements according to Circular Letter from the Ministry of Transportation Number 56 of 2022, where prospective passengers who are still on two doses of COVID-19 vaccination are allowed to travel without a COVID-19 test. Meanwhile, prospective passengers who are still in dose one or not can't get the COVID-19 vaccine are required to carry out a COVID-19 test as a travel requirement, explained Surya Eka.Sentani Airport during June recorded 158,193 passenger movements, an increase of 18% compared to the period in June 2021 which recorded 133,937 passengers and the movement of natural aircraft increased by 26 percent, from 3,249 aircraft movements that came and departed in 2021, up to 4,122 movements.
