Prevent PMK, Gencar Police Spray Disinfektan At Sumbawa Port, NTB

SUMBAVA - The West Sumbawa Police have made a number of efforts to prevent the spread of mouth and nail disease (PMK) by spraying disinfectants in the Poto Tano Port area.

West Sumbawa Police Chief AKBP Heru Muslimin said the effort to suppress the PMK case was carried out in collaboration with the Agricultural Quarantine Task Force and the West Sumbawa Regency Agriculture Service, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).

"This is to prevent the spread of the PMK outbreak ahead of Eid al-Adha 1443 Hijri," Heru said in a written statement, quoted from Antara, Thursday, July 7.

He said spraying disinfectants at the exit of the port unloading route targeting vehicle spraying and pick-up for other vehicles had to pass the spraying of disinfectant carpets.

"In addition, the spraying was carried out by the pier," he said.

In addition, his party also carried out an agricultural quarantine compliance operation at Poto Tano Port to anticipate the entry of animals with mouth and nails.

In checking four-wheeled vehicles, both trucks and box cars, personnel were divided into 2 places, namely vehicles that would cross and trucks loading and unloading Ferry.

During the raid, his party also ordered members to carry out inspections focused on boxed vehicles and trucks loaded with live animals, meat, vegetables and shallots.

He expressed his hope that quarantine operations would be carried out to prevent the entry of PMK in the Sumbawa area. "This is one of the efforts to prevent the spread of the PMK outbreak," he said.
