Its Existence Is Considered Disturbing, Street Vendors And PMKS In The Istiqlal Mosque Area Are Brought Under Control By Satpol PP

JAKARTA - Ahead of the celebration of Eid al-Adha which falls on Sunday, July 10, 2022, dozens of Civil Service Police Units (Satpol PP) Sawah Besar District brought down street vendors (PKL) and Persons with Social Welfare Problems (PMKS).

"Our targets are street vendors and PMKS around Lapangan Banteng and the Istiglal Mosque," said Head of the Sawah Besar Civil Service Police Unit, Darwis Silitonga, Thursday, July 7.

Darwis said this control was to create comfort for Muslims to worship during the Eid al-Adha celebration at the Istiqlal mosque. The cart that was successfully transported was immediately taken to the Sawah Besar District office.

"We will take them to the sub-district office later they will take them at the office and we will return them again. The cart that we secured was left by the owner and the cart on the sidewalk. Later the owner will undergo a judicial trial," said Darwis.

Meanwhile, the Head of Pasar Baru Village, Arbi Novianto, said that his party also managed to secure 5 PMKS on Jalan Veteran 1. These PMKS were arrested while they were resting under the railroad tracks.

"We have secured five PMKS. All of them were immediately taken to the Kedoya orphanage, West Jakarta to get training from the Social Service," he said.
