Performing Massive Drilling, Pertamina Speeds Up Oil And Gas Production Up To 1,047 Million Barrels
JAKARTA - PT Pertamina (Persero) reports that the realization of oil and gas production until May 2022 has reached 966 million barrels of equivalent per day (MBOEPD). This number is 8 percent higher than last year's achievement which was only 897 MBOEPD.
For this achievement, Pertamina President Director Nicke Widyawati targets to produce 1,047 MBOEPD of oil and gas this year. The target is up 17 percent from last year's realization.
"We have to maintain energy security from upstream. What we are doing is massive drilling," Nicke said in a Hearing Meeting with Commission VI DPR RI, Wednesday 6 July.
Throughout 2022, Nicke said, Pertamina plans to carry out drilling developments in 813 development wells and 29 exploration wells, adding workover plans, well maintenance and well reactivation.
For workovers, he reported that until May 2022, his party had carried out WO on 246 wells and well services had been carried out as many as 11,714 wells.
"We are trying to hold down the decline rate from the existing field so that there will be a natural decline in production," concluded Nicke
